3 Stationery Items That Make Planning 10x Easier

If you love planning or journaling, you know how much the right stationery can transform your setup. The right tools don’t just make your planner look pretty — they help you stay organized, motivated, and consistent.

This year, I found these three simple but powerful items that make planning in my Tiny Grids planner so much easier and more enjoyable.

1. Bande Cat Sandwich Washi Tape — Cute and Functional

Let’s start with the one that sparks joy every time I open my planner — the Bande Cat Sandwich Washi Tape.

It’s adorable (tiny cats nestled between sandwiches!) but it’s not just for decoration. I use it to create mini headers, highlight sections, or mark key reminders. The fine black outlines blend perfectly if you write with black ink — so even though it’s playful, your layout still looks clean and cohesive.

It’s the perfect example of stationery that adds personality and practicality.

2. White Post-it Flags Tabs — Flexible Planning Made Simple

Next up is one of my all-time essentials: the white Post-it Flags tab.

These small, transparent tabs are minimal and incredibly useful. I use them to jot down future events or tasks that might move around — just stick them on your calendar, and when plans change, peel and re-stick without leaving any marks.

They’re also great for reusable weekly tasks. Since the white finish blends so nicely with your planner pages, they keep your layout looking tidy and intentional — especially on the soft Tomoe River paper inside the Tiny Grids planner.

3. Midori Chiratto Index Clips — Find Your Pages Instantly

Finally, for anyone who loves efficient, clean organization — the Midori Chiratto Index Clips are a must-have.

They fit perfectly on thin papers (like Tomoe River) without bending or creasing them, and they’re slim enough to not bulk up your planner. I use three:

  • One on my current journal page,

  • One on my weekly spread,

  • And one on my tracker.

This setup makes it so easy to flip straight to the pages I check every day. They’re subtle, sturdy, and keep your planner looking neat and professional.

Final Thoughts

Sometimes it’s the small things that make planning smoother and more fun. These three stationery items — the washi tape, the tabs, and the clips — each serve a purpose that keeps your planner flexible, stylish, and functional.

If you’re new to my shop, I designed the Tiny Grids planner with versatility in mind — it’s the only Tomoe River planner that features two functional grid sizes, so you can plan, journal, and create freely in one beautiful notebook.
