New to Planner Stickers? Get These 3 Essentials First

Before you fill your cart with more stickers, make sure you have these three things — they'll save you frustration (and stickers) down the road.

If you're just getting into planner stickers, it's easy to go straight for the cute designs and skip the boring stuff. But a few simple tools make a huge difference in how much you actually enjoy using them — especially if you're working with delicate paper like Tomoe River paper or planning in a Traveler's Notebook (TN). Here's what to grab before you go all in.

1. Craft Tweezers

Planner stickers are small and delicate, and honestly, your fingers just aren't precise enough. A pair of curved-tip craft tweezers lets you peel and place stickers exactly where you want them — no more re-peeling a sticker five times because it landed crooked, and no more accidentally folding a tiny sticker in half trying to pick it up.

This matters even more if you're working on thin, high-quality paper like Tomoe River paper— you want to place things right the first time, since repositioning can be tougher on delicate pages.

2. A Sticker Release Book (or Binder)

Once you start collecting stickers, you need somewhere to keep them organized — otherwise you end up with loose sheets everywhere and no idea what you actually own.

Personally, I keep a sticker release refill in my TN, since it travels with me. Some people prefer a binder at home instead, and that works great too — it really just comes down to whether you want your sticker stash portable or stationary. Either way, this is the one that saves you from digging through a pile of sheets every time you sit down to plan.

3. A Cover With Pockets

Having your favorite stickers within arm's reach makes the whole planning process smoother — no flipping through a separate book mid-session just to find the one sticker you wanted.

This is actually the reason we design every Tiny Grids clear cover with a front and back pocket. It keeps a few go-to stickers right where you need them, so decorating your planner or journal feels easy instead of like a scavenger hunt.
